Nellie Virginia Fitzgerald, 97, of Raphine, Virginia died Friday, September 7, 2018 at The Mayflower in Lexington.

Born May 23, 1921, in Rockbridge County, she was the daughter of the late James Roscoe Fox and Myrtle Ellen Sours Fox.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theordore Divers Fitzgerald.

Surviving are her daughter, Virginia Anne Clemmer and husband, G. D.; brother, Earl Fox and wife, Mary of Lyndhurst; grandchildren, Martha Rowsey and husband, Dale and James Clemmer and wife, Shelia; great-grandchildren, Lance Rowsey and wife, Christinia, and Tracy Weeks and husband, Brandon; and great-great-grandchildren, Colten and Owen Weeks and Adalyn Rowsey.

Nellie was a member of the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church since 1937.

A funeral was conducted at Harrison Funeral Chapel Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018. Burial followed at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Cemetery.
