Obituary for Richard Ogden Claytor Richard Ogden Claytor
Former Covington Resident Dies At Age 68

Richard Ogden Claytor (Rick), 68, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2018 following a battle with cancer since 2014.

Rick was a resident of Fredericksburg VA, formerly of Covington, Virginia.

He is survived by his wife (of 47 years) Rena Oliver Claytor; daughter, Rana Claytor Buchanan (Dean) and grandson, Justis Beverly. He is also survived by his sisters, Barbara (Bobbie) Claytor Trail (Henry) and Kristie Claytor (Steve); uncle, Wayne Ogden (Dreama). He is also survived by six nieces and two nephews, as well as six great nieces and two great nephews.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline Ogden Claytor and Robert Claytor.

Rick graduated from Covington High School and attended Dabney S. Lancaster Community College. He retired in 2017 after 25 years at Builders First Source.

He was a devoted member of the 
Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Rick will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched. Please join family and friends in celebrating Rick's life on October 6 at Calvary Christian Church in Covington, Virginia at 11 a.m. The family invites you to bring a dish and share in fellowship immediately following the service.

The family extends a special thank you to his caregivers at Mary Washington Hospice.
