Obituary for Wyma W. Driscoll Phillips Wyma W. Driscoll Phillips
Former James Lees Employee Was Buena Vista Resident

Wyma W. Driscoll Phillips, 87, of Buena Vista, Virginia went to be with her precious Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 13, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan F. and Myra Staton Walker; and her husbands, James R. Driscoll and Ellis G. Phillips Sr.

She was formerly employed by James Lees in Glasgow. Mom loved reading, working crossword puzzles, feeding birds and her precious three-legged rescued cat, Cassie.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Nathan, Roger, Lonnie, Edgar and Curtis (infant); and three sisters, Yvonne, Patricia and Phyllis.

Surviving are her two sons, Jim Driscoll (Carolyn) of Ghana, Africa, and Ellis G. Phillips Jr. (Marie) of Buena Vista; four daughters, Barbara Brown of Buchanan, Sharon Tomlinson (Jack) of Stuarts Draft, Terri Wilmer (Ray) of Raphine, and Carolyn Harrison (Tommy) of Lexington; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 18 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mark Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to our Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers St., Lexington, VA 24450, as a token of appreciation for all they have done to assist families in these impossibly difficult times.

The family would also like to extend their gratitude to Dr. James Crews and staff, Lexington RX Center, Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital and the entire staff of Shenandoah Valley Health & Rehab in Buena Vista, for all their loving care this past week and a special thank you to her neighbor and nearly family for everything, Mike and Sandy Claytor.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
