Obituary for Victor Christian Jr. Victor Christian Jr.
West Virginia Native Was Air Force Veteran Of Korean War

Victor Christian Jr., 89, of Lexington, Virginia died peacefully at home on Sunday, November 11, 2018 after a brief illness.

He was born in McDowell County, West Virginia to his parents, Victor and Pearl Christian.

He was a graduate of Richlands High School, attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and graduated from Georgia State University.

He served proudly in the U. S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Victor was a life-long church member and sang in church choirs for more than 60 years.

Survivors include his wife, Melba Asbury; two daughters, Sarah Christian (Paula Curl), and Lisa Beaty (Frank); one granddaughter, Margretta Quesnel (Alexandre); one grandson, Frank Beaty IV; one brother, Phillip Christian; and one sister, Carol Burress. His survivors also include his stepchildren, Deborah Ellis, Bruce Heaps, Emily (Mike) Higgins, and Fred Asbury (Patti). He is also survived by several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren (most notably Claire and Sammy Jones).

He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Jane S. Christian, and his wife of six years, BettyAnn Heaps; three sisters, June Christian, Mary Huckleberry, and Violet Hampton; and one brother, Allen Christian.

Services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow. The Rev. Patrick Lanaghan will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice or Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church.
