Union Baptist Church Member Once Served On The Glasgow Town Council

Monica Jolynne Dock, 56, of Glasgow, Virginia died Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 9, 1962 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of Charlyne Lewis Wallace and the late Jesse Lewis.

She was a member of Union Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities – choir member, music director and Sunday school teacher. Monica also served on Glasgow Town Council, was a member of Berean Valley Baptist Association, was a Rockbridge County pre-school teacher, and a member of the concerned citizen's committee.

Surviving are her husband, Don Dock Jr.; daughter, Angela; grandson, Onyx; sister, Moreland Diamond; and mother-in-law, Delois Dock; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral service will be Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Union Baptist Church in Glasgow with the Rev. R.H. Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Glasgow. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Harrison Funeral Home.
