Ronnie Fletcher Meade, Sr., 76, of Hot Springs, Virginia passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at his residence after a long illness.

He was born February 23, 1942 in Coeburn, Virginia, the son of the late Carlos Fletcher Meade and Della Turner Meade.

On August 6, 1966 he married Arlene Virginia Baldwin, his wife of 52 years.

Mr. Meade retired from the Homestead Resort as a night auditor with 36 years of service.

He was a member of the Solid Rock Ministries in Covington, Virginia.

He was a family man, who enjoyed carpentry work and loved to remodel the house. He enjoyed working on automobiles and planting the garden. He had a green thumb…no one else could do it like him. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene Meade of Hot Springs; two children, Lucinda "Cindy" McConnell and husband, Jimmy of Nickelsville, Virginia and Ronnie Fletcher Meade, Jr. of Hot Springs; two grandchildren, Levi Meade and Haley McConnell; three sisters, Helen Pate and Ruby Lawson, both of Coeburn, Virginia and Marlene McConnell and husband, Calvin of Steger, Illinois; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carolyn Hise and friend, John Hart, Diana Shifflett and husband, Hugh, Debbie Baldwin, Richard Baldwin, Mary Simmons, Jewell Brummitt, Danny Baldwin, Phyllis Lindsay and husband, Robert.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Solid Rock Ministries with Pastor Pam Irvine officiating.
