Dorothy Christine Ruley, 79, of Lexington, Virginia died Friday, January 11, 2019 at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She was born December 21, 1939 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of William Hansford Gordon and Retter Gertrude Southers Gordon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Gordon Vess.

Surviving are her children Cynthia "Sissy" G. Gordon, Darrell Hansford Brads and wife, Stephanie, all of Lexington, and Charles E. Gordon of Buena Vista; a sister, Anna Brads and husband, Johnny; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Mike Moyers. Burial will follow at McElwee Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Home.
