Obituary for Yvonne Carr Fox Yvonne Carr Fox
Steeles Taver Resident Was Former Sigma Nu Comptroller

Yvonne Carr Fox, 83, of Steeles Tavern, Virginia died Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Blue Ridge Christian Home.

Born January 29, 1935 in Augusta County, she was the daughter of Maude Bradley Carr and Beaty J. Carr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Fox; a daughter, Dianne Fox; and a brother, Everett J. Carr.

Yvonne was a member of Vesuvius Baptist Church and served as pianist/organist, church treasurer, Sunday school superintendent, and a member of church committees. Yvonne loved her church, and was a devoted, faithful, and committed member for over 70 years.

Yvonne was a graduate of Spottswood High School and Dunsmore Business College. She held several accounting positions before beginning her employment with Sigma Nu National Headquarters in Lexington in 1957. Yvonne retired as comptroller of that organization in 2007.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Fox of Richmond; and a nephew, Woody Carr and his wife, Linda of Stuarts Draft.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Harrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Deacon David Curtis officiating. Burial will be private.

Yvonne strongly supported the Christian Great Commission to "Spread the Gospel". In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Riverheads Weekday Religious Education Program, P. O. Box 10, Greenville, VA, 24440.

Gratitude is expressed by the family for the staff at Blue Ridge Christian Home, Mary Lois, Dr. Marsh, Faye Cash, and Betsy Painter, who assisted Yvonne with her life's journey, especially her last days.
