Bernell (Buzzie) Benjamin Smith, 67, of Millboro, Virginia passed away Friday, January 18, 2019 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center, Roanoke, Virginia.

He was born February 21, 1951 in Clifton Forge, Virginia, the son of the late Robert Hongrover Smith and Aluah Gretta Robertson Smith.

Mr. Smith was an electrician who worked for several different contractors. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains.

He is survived by two daughters and one son; two brothers, Orlando Smith and wife, Barbara of Millboro and Darrell Smith of Millboro; three sisters, Edith Maxine Fraley and husband, Dick of Emporia, Virginia, Reva Thurston of Glen Allen, Virginia and Wanda Smith of Richmond, Virginia.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Smith.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Millboro Funeral Home with Pastor Lloyd Via officiating. Interment will be in Smith Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Millboro Funeral Home.
