Maxine P. Staples, 92, of Yorktown, Virginia, formerly of Buena Vista, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019.

She truly lived her life to the fullest. Maxine never met a stranger and she never found her filter.

She is predeceased by her daughter, Mary Eileen Aboy; her son, Joseph Paul McCormick; her husband, John M. Staples; and her parents, Mosby Fulton Painter and Odessa Campbell Painter.

She is survived by her daughter, Alice M. Hazelwood (Ben); a son, Jon Timothy McCormick; grandchildren Elizabeth Pitt (Lenn), Kate Mahoney, Jon Michael McCormick, Shannon Kipp (Jason), Carrie Johnson (Joe) and Paige Harper (Thomas); great-grandchildren Tyler, Addison, Harper, Reid, Jessica, Taylor, Riley, Hayden, and Arlynn; and a host of nieces, great nieces and cousins.

A special thanks for all of her friends, staff, and caregivers at Colonial Harbor, Yorktown.

A funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel in Mathews. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow the service at Gwynn's Island Cemetery in Grimstead.
