Shirley Jean Davis Allen, 71, of Buena Vista, Virginia passed away Friday, April 12, 2019.

She was born March 13, 1948 in Buena Vista, the daughter of the late Matthew Ellis Davis Sr. and Gladys Shifflett Davis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ray Allen; a sister, Donna Davis Shull; and two brothers, Matthew Ellis Davis Jr. and Gary Michael Davis.

Surviving are two daughters, Melissa Patterson and wife, Whitney Campbell, and Melanie Harless; four grandchildren, Hannah, Kayla, Morgan and Alexander; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Davis "Connie" Hostetter, and Janice Morrison Barger and Sam Moore.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 at Green Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Punker Robertson officiating.

There will be no formal viewing at the funeral home.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
