White Sulphur Springs Native Was Retired Greenbrier Hotel Elevator Mechanic

Lonnie Edward Fury, age 82, died May 29, 2019 of a sudden illness.

He was born November 22, 1936 in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, the son of the late Roy Edward Fury and Dalena Lambert Fury.

Mr. Fury was a retired elevator mechanic for the Greenbrier Hotel for 42 years.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Vonda Fury Chapman and husband, Harold of White Sulphur Springs; one brother, Dennis Wyatt Fury and wife, Judith Fury of Burton, Ohio and his dog, "Brutis".

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Margaret Weese Fury of 62 years of marriage; two daughters and sons-in-law, Connie Mullins and husband, (Barry) of Covington, Virginia, Karen Oquinn and (Dale) of Sinks Grove, West Virginia; four grandchildren, Travis Mullins of Covington, Virginia, Jarett Mullins and wife (Amber), of Covington, Virginia, Shawn Oquinn and wife (Carrie), of Maryland, Jessica Oquinn of Sinks Grove, West Virginia; four great grandchildren Landen Mullins and Owen Mullins of Covington, Jase Oquinn and Shayla Oquinn of Sinks Grove, West Virginia, his dogs, "Sampson" and "Buddie", and his good friends, Marshall Feury and Roger Bostic of White Sulphur Springs.

Mr. Fury enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family, friends and dogs.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home of White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. Per Mr. Fury's wishes, his body will be cremated. The family will have a private service at a later date.

The Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
