Violet Wolfe Persinger, 86, of 508 W. Gilliam Street, Covington, Virginia died Thursday, July 18, 2019 in Lewis Gale-Alleghany Hospital at Low Moor.

Mrs. Persinger was born July 11, 1933 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Charles and Amber Arritt Wolfe.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Huffman, Juanita Terry, Oleta Stayton and Edna Kemper and two brothers, Walter Wolfe and Odell Wolfe.

She retired from Westvaco in 1994 after 32 years in the Accounting Department. She was a member of First Christian Church.

Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Clifford B. Persinger, Sr. of Covington; three daughters, Doris Childs and Bobbie Persinger, both of Covington and Ronda Hyler and her husband, Gary of Roanoke; three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and JoAnne Persinger of Lewisburg, WV, Dennis and Julie Persinger of Covington and Clifford and Terry Persinger, Jr. of Clifton Forge; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 21, 2019 at 2:00 Pp.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating.

Interment will be made in Lone Star Cemetery.

The family will receive their friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Jason Persinger, Kevin Persinger, George Wilkinson, Aaron Persinger, Matthew Persinger, Wayne Smith, Pierce Persinger, Dallan Givens and Gunner Givens.

The family suggests that donations in Mrs. Persinger's name be made to First Christian Church, 231 E. Fudge Street, Covington, VA 24426.
