U. S. Army Veteran Worked With Goodwill Industries

Ronald Edward Barber, age 71, of 619 Pine Street, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Sunday, July 28, 2019 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem.

He was born October 2, 1947 in Clifton Forge to the late Harry Edward Barber, Jr. and Mildred Maxine Fox Barber.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was retired from Goodwill Industries.

He enjoyed watching all sports, and loved sitting on his porch and listening to music of any kind.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeannette R. Barber and Dolores Pitzer, and a brother, Gary Wayne "Chucky" Barber.

He is survived by a sister, Eileen Frances Ross of Petersburg; a brother, Richard Barber of Kentucky; a devoted niece, Stephanie Pultz, as well as other nieces and nephews; and his friends and neighbors.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with Reverend David Halsey officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Nicely Funeral Home.
