Ronald Mitchell Drawbond, 80, lost his courageous battle with cancer at his home in Raphine on August 12, 2019.

He was born March 29, 1939, the son of Mary (Tyree) and Orval R. Drawbond.

After retiring from DuPont, he worked part-time for Fisher Auto Parts. Mitch also served in the Army National Guard of Virginia soon after his high school graduation.

Mitch will be remembered by family and friends as a compassionate and generous person who always thought of others first, leading him to help others by providing transportation, visiting sick and shut-ins, and helping in whatever ways needed.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Fairfield United Methodist Church by the Rev. Valerie Ritter.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Augusta Health Center for Cancer and Hospice of Shenandoah for all their loving care.
