Well-Known Business Owner Was Pillar Within Monterey Church Of God Of Prophecy

Kelly Elaine (Siron) Botkin, 55, wife of David Botkin of Monterey, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019 at home and surrounded by her loving family.

She was born November 13, 1963, a daughter of Gaynelle (Patterson) Siron of Monterey and the late Eddie Arnold Siron.

A woman of considerable faith, Kelly was a member and pillar within the Monterey Church of God of Prophecy.

She was the past director and driver for Highland VPAS; operated her own lawn care business, and for decades, provided loving childcare to countless children throughout Monterey.

Kelly thrived in the kitchen and loved to prepare meals for her family as well as anyone else that happened to be in her home, making certain no one went hungry. She also spent long hours raising a beautiful vegetable garden and many late and hot nights canning her harvest.

Throughout the community Kelly was known for her generosity and goodwill, selflessly donating her time to W.R.E., community fundraisers and those in need. Amongst all of her attributes none was more evident than her love of children and for those she watched. The care she provided and her willingness to open her home was a blessing to so many and will never be forgotten. Above all, Kelly Botkin loved her family and will be remembered as the epitome of a wife, mother and grandmother who never ceased to provide for her family and community.

Along with her father, she was predeceased by sister, Sherrie Lynn Siron; and her brother, Timothy Arnold Siron.

In addition to her beloved husband and mother, surviving family members include daughters, Kim Kirk and husband, Justin of Franklin, WV, Laura Perry and husband, Michael of Churchville, and Megan Botkin of Monterey; grandchildren, Madison, Macie and Colin Kirk and Asher Perry, all of whom she cherished and was so very proud of.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Obaugh Funeral Home with Deacon Richard Hanger and Pastor Charles "Ray" Turner officiating. Interment will follow in McKendree Cemetery.

Active pallbearers include Rodger and Larry Propst, Scott Hull, Brandon Wooddell, Andy Botkin, Gideon Hiner, Michael Warf, and Bud Armstrong.

Friends in attendance will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday evening at the Obaugh funeral home.
