Phyllis Goodbar Tyree, 78, of Lexington, Virginia died Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at her home.

Born July 16, 1941 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Cluster McCoy Goodbar and Florence Robinson Zollman Goodbar.

Phyllis was a member of Oxford Presbyterian Church and was an insurance agent for over 50 years for Nationwide and Chittum Insurance Agencies.

Surviving are her husband of 23 years, Earley Wade Tyree of Lexington; siblings, Maxine Smiley of Virginia Beach, Henry Goodbar and his wife, Judy of Stuarts Draft, and Eloise Sensabaugh and husband, Larry of Lexington; and stepdaughter; Crystal Perry of Vesuvius.

A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 22, at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Dr. Horace Douty officiating. Burial will follow at Oxford Presbyterian Cemetery. Friends may gather with the family one hour before the service.
