Retired Cato's Manager Led The Covington Highlanders For Over 40 Years

Libby Desiree Donnally Riley, age 63, of 200 Sammys Road, Covington, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at her home, surrounded by all of her family.

She was born September 25, 1956 in Clifton Forge to the late Westwood Donnally and Elizabeth Matheny Donnally.

She was a retired manager for Cato's in Covington.

Libby was a member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder, Sunday school teacher, youth director two times, and an honorary life member of the Presbyterian Women.

She helped her daughters and granddaughters in pageants and led the Covington Highlanders for over 40 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Lucas Jonathan Riley and a number of sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Riley of Covington; two daughters, Kylene Riley Smith and husband, David of Salem, Katie Riley Cline of Covington; a brother, Bert Caul and wife, Betsy of Covington; half-brother, Eddie Donnally of Clearwater, Florida; two grandchildren, Brielle Smith and Kenzie Cline; a number of nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Chris Caul and wife, Ruth and their son, Summit; and her special friends, Paula Stull, Norma Nicely, Tina Brown, Kathy Williams, Anita Boone, and many others.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Sunday afternoon, October 27, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church, Covington, with Reverend Michael Fleenor and Reverend Jim Moss officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, October 25, 2019 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.

The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church.
