Clifton Forge Native Worked With Harlow Construction

John Mark Hughes, age 58, of 104 Walton Church Lane, Alleghany Campground, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Thursday, October 17, 2019 at the Alleghany Health and Rehab Center in Clifton Forge.

He was born September 21, 1961 in Clifton Forge to Robert Garland Hughes and the late Virgene Ruth DuBois Hughes.

He was a laborer for Harlow Construction.

He served in the Virginia National Guard and was of the Advent Christian faith.

In addition to his mother, Ruth Hughes, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Harlow Hughes.

He is survived by his father, Robert Hughes of Pembroke, GA; two daughters, Kadie Alaine Hughes King and Adam, of Broadway, and Laura Michelle Hughes Bruce and wife, Sabrina; two sisters, Brenda Hughes Muterspaugh and husband, Dale of Clifton Forge, and Robin Hughes Schroeder and husband, Eric of Blountville, TN; two brothers, Norman Hughes of Pembroke, GA and Duncan Hughes and wife, Melissa of Clarksville, GA; a grandson, Jack King; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, his body has been cremated. There will be no services.
