Obituary for Claude Wayne Ailstock Claude Wayne Ailstock
Covington Native Was Vietnam War Veteran, Former Millwright, Construction Superintendent

Mr. Claude Wayne Ailstock, age 76, of Hot Springs, Virginia died Thursday, November 7, 2019 at his residence.

He was the husband of Elizabeth Hiner Ailstock.

Mr. Ailstock was born July 8, 1943 in Covington, the son of the late Charles Peyton Ailstock and Goldie Wilhelm Ailstock.

He served his country as a member of the United States Army in the Vietnam War.

During his working career, Claude was employed as a millwright and superintendent by Daniels Construction as well as working at a number of car dealerships including Madison Motors.

Mr. Ailstock was a life member of Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars, where he served his post in several capacities. Claude enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, traveling and taking care of the cattle on his farm.

In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, Mr. Ailstock is survived by two sons, Michael Wayne Ailstock and wife, Sondra of Covington and Zebulon Wade Ailstock and wife, Elizabeth Ann of Augusta, GA; eight stepchildren who were reared by Claude, Larry Hodson and wife, Conia of North Augusta, SC, David Allan Bennett of Texas, Michael Dwight of Staunton, Christopher Lee Bennett of Oakwood, VA, Eddie Dwight Bennett, Jr. of Danville, Arieanna Dawn McDorman of Covington, Cassandra Marie McDorman of Richwood, WV, and Victoria Danielle McDorman of Hot Springs; twelve step grandchildren; and a sister, Aileen Hamrick.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ailstock was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Ailstock and a sister, Geraldine Ailstock Morris.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday November 13, 2019 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hollenbeck officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
