Helen Juanita Bayne, 88, of Lexington, Virginia died Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Carilion Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Born November 26, 1930 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Albert Thompson and Nelly Frances Entsminger Thompson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Bayne. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Helen was a member of New Grace Church of God of Prophecy, and worked as a baker at VMI.

Surviving are her five nephews, Johnny Newell of Waynesboro, Jimmy Lee Thompson of Florida, Jimmy Albert Thompson of Stuarts Draft, Kenneth Lee Davis of Lexington, and Eugene Davis of North Carolina; and two nieces, Brenda Davis and Shirley Dixon, both of Roanoke.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, November 18 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Bishop Jerry Schall officiating. Friends may gather with the family for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.
